Tiemco Fly Pit Review

Tiemco Fly Pit
Designed by some of Japan’s top fly fishermen, the Tiemco Fly Pit features many traits of the conventional fly box but in a pocket sized package, measuring 11.0 x 6.5 x 2.5cm.
The Tiemco Fly Pit is constructed from a hard plastic that is both shock and weatherproof, whilst the ventilated side holes allow water to escape and evaporate from wet flies.
Inside the Tiemco Fly Pit there are 5 rows of plastazote foam, along with a flat foam side. This allows you to house a wide range of fly patterns, whether you have hackled, winged or long tailed flies, all will be perfectly stored. The fly pit is also supplied with 4 replaceable foam slats (not pictured).
A heavy duty clasp ensures the box stays closed when the lid is sealed.
On the back, the Fly Pit features a heavy duty safety pin that allows the Pit to be safely secured to your fishing jacket, shirt or waders.
Personal Judgement
Kieron Jenkins say’s “I have been using the Fly Pit from Tiemco for over a year now and have been super impressed by this simple piece of kit. I have always used fly patches on my fishing jackets, whether to dry used patterns before putting them back in my fly boxes, or housing new patterns I’m thinking of trying that day”.
Why the Fly Pit?
“Since using the Fly Pit I tend to use my main fly boxes less, as the size of the Pit lets me stock up on patterns at the beginning of the day. This is essential for me as when river fishing the weights and fly sizes are changed regularly, saving time in competitions, as well as pleasure days”.
The Fly Pit is priced at just £14.96, it is very competitively priced compared to other fly patches – Something well all compare before taking the plunge!
