New Warmwater Fly Patterns from Fulling Mill USA: Carp Flies, Bass Bugs, and Baitfish

Published: 13th February 2026 | Author: Fulling Mill

New Warmwater Flies for 2026

Warmwater fisheries offer a range of exceptional fly fishing opportunities. While some anglers choose to target these species solely when their trout streams warm up, more and more people are prioritizing fishing for species that tolerate warm water. Even during the shoulder seasons, typically known for exceptional trout fishing, some anglers just can’t get enough of warmwater species and will chase them into the cold! Whether you fish for bass, carp, panfish, or the plethora of other fun warmwater species, we’ve got warmwater fly patterns for you.

We welcome new flies and tyers to our 2026 Fulling Mill USA catalog and are excited to share what’s new! This year, we’re featuring new warmwater signature flies from Josh Jenkins, Cade Moore, and the legendary Chuck Kraft. From bottom creatures like dragonfly larva, damsel nymphs, helgramites, and crayfish, to baitfish flies and topwater bugs, read on to see what’s new!

Moore’s Mudskipper Weighted

Coming to us from Signature Tyer Cade Moore, this is one of those warmwater fly patterns that simply works for any fish that swims. Offered in olive, ginger, and black, and tied on size 8 hooks. You can use Moore’s Mudskipper for carp, bass, and a variety of panfish like perch, crappies, and blue gill. Any nymph-eating fish will likely scarf this bug down without hesitation. This pattern passes as a damsel or dragonfly nymph, a large mayfly nymph, or even a small crayfish and other critters found on the bottom.

The Rabbit Zonker is the highlight of this fly. It creates a super durable fly with lots of movement in the collar and tail. When utilizing the drag and drop method, the fly slims down when dragging the fly into position. When dropped, the silicone legs, collar, and tail create a great profile and movement. Available in a bunch of colors, this fly will catch carp wherever you chase them.”

Moore’s Carp Leech

In Signature Tyer Cade Moore’s words, “This fly features a Dragon tail and is a durable and simple tail material that creates tons of movement. Rubber legs and a rabbit strip collar also add to that movement to entice takes while also being durable. The fly is a must-have when targeting and chasing Carp!”. Like Cade’s fly above, this pattern passes as a damsel or dragonfly nymph, a large mayfly nymph, or even a small crayfish and other critters found on the bottom. Tied on our highly praised Bonio Carp Hooks.

Jenkins’ Damzel Washington

We are excited to feature this pattern from new Signature Tyer Josh Jenkins. Josh Jenkins is the R&D manager at Scientific Anglers, where he’s responsible for designing their products as well as working on the machines and processes that they use to manufacture their lines in Michigan. Fly fishing has been a part of his life since Josh was twelve. As a natural tinkerer, fly tying and design is a journey. Josh says that the process has involved “a ton of experimentation, a decent amount of failure, and the occasional success.” We’re thrilled to have Josh on board with a few of those successes—some excellent warmwater fly patterns. If you like fishing topwater for warmwater fish like bass and panfish, Jenkin’s Damzel Washington is certain bring fish to the surface to slurp a fly.

Josh Jenkins says, “Smallmouth bass are a dynamic species. In my local Michigan waters, their forage will change throughout the year. Tactics generally shift from large streamer patterns in the spring, to finesse top water flies in the late summer and fall. This finesse game is my favorite part of the year, with weary fish and visual interactions.”.

Josh designed the Damzel Washington specifically for this purpose. Both it and his Safe-House Hopper are based on the same underlying pattern. A tapered, cylindrical foam body with a cupped head. The cupped head creates a stellar popping noise relative to the size of the fly, but it works equally as well when skated or dead drifted. While it excels for smallmouth bass and other warm water species, don’t overlook its potential for a more active terrestrial trout pattern! Offered in size 4 and 10.

Flies Designed by Chuck Kraft

As we mentioned in our Top 5 Streamers for 2026 blog, we were approached by Chuck Kraft’s son to produce Chuck’s signature flies. We were thrilled to accept this opportunity because Chuck Kraft was a skilled fly designer and fly fishing guide, and he had a huge influence on the sport. Lefty Kreh, Bob Clouser, and Flip Pallot described Chuck Kraft as the best smallmouth bass guide in the country. These guys would know, because Chuck guided them many times.

Truly, Chuck was a pioneer of his craft. It’s not every day that a true innovator comes into the world of fly fishing and fly tying. Without question, Chuck Kraft an innovator. We’re grateful to his family for continuing his legacy by giving us permission to produce his flies!

Kraft’s Crtittermite

Chuck began development on the Crittermite in 2007. He didn’t publicly release it until January of 2013, at the Fly Fishing Show in Somerset, NJ. He worked on the pattern and fished it in secret for 7 years because he wanted the fly to be balanced and have the same profile and movement of a real Hellgrammite. Unfortunately, by March of 2013 there were “knockoffs” of Chuck’s Crittermite Tail. The Crittermite has been an incredible pattern for both Smallmouth and Trout. Its profile, movement, and durability enable this fly to get the job done after numerous catches and bumps along the bottom.

Kraft’s Clawdad

The Clawdad was developed by Chuck Kraft in 1996. Chuck designed this crayfish pattern to emulate the action and profile of the Pig-N-Jig lure that Bass Anglers use. This fly has been producing Trophy Trout and Smallmouth bass for 3 decades. Chuck’s largest brown trout was caught using a Clawdad while he was guiding in Chile. This fly pattern covers the deeper part of the water column, and fools large fish with its buggy profile and life-like movement. Offered in orange and brown, sizes 4 & 6.

Chuck Kraft’s Baitfish

The CK Baitfish was publicly released in 1994. The pattern went through many phases of development regarding the materials used to tie the pattern. Chuck Kraft pioneered the use of Ultrasuede in the fly fishing industry when he designed the tail for the CK Baitfish. The CK Baitfish is productive on any species of predatory fish. It is equally effective in Freshwater as it is in Saltwater. The CK Baitfish tail design was upgraded in 2010 to improve the stability of the tail and eliminate foul hooking. Tied on sizes 1 & 1/0 Streamer Stripper Hooks, offered in white and tan.
