Thurso River Salmon Fishing Report

Published: 17th July 2016 | Author: Fulling Mill

24 Rods. One Week. 422 Fish. 31 over 15lbs. Congratulations to all those on the Thurso last week – A Great Result.

A truly exceptional week on the river. I will start with the figures. 442 fish caught. 179 of these were Salmon, of which 31 were 15lbs plus with 4 fish above 20lbs, the largest at 22lbs. The best day was Thursday with 99 fish caught. 75% of fish I would have said were very fresh or sea-liced and were the fish we had seen building up in the estuary in June. Individually a number of rods had in excess of 40 fish for their week. And with 24 rods fishing that was an average of 18 fish per rod. Beat 9 on two consecutive day produced 30 and 31 fish.
