New Pike Flies from Fulling Mill Ambassador, Paul Clydesdale.
Published: 10th January 2018 | Author: Fulling MillWe’re extremely pleased to announce that Paul Clydesdale is now a Fulling Mill Ambassador and we have a selection of new pike flies to offer!
Now living in Kilwinning, North Ayrshire, Paul started fly fishing at the age of 11 and picked up a bobbin holder around the same time. The first flies he tied were for trout, slowly progressing into more sophisticated salmon patterns, for the spare rivers of Ayrshire.
These days most of his time is now spent fly fishing for pike. Paul enjoys all aspects of fishing for pike, whether it’s fishing the huge wild waters of Scotland or walking the lengths of a Fenland drain or river. Although, Paul’s real passion at the moment is hunting monster pike on the southern trout reservoirs. To date, Paul has landed four pike over the magical 30lb mark on the fly, the biggest being 36lb in weight!
His obsession with pike fishing has pushed him to design a whole new range of pike flies that are fit for purpose. Fortunately for us, we are able to offer you Paul’s new pike flies for 2018!

Tied with the very best fly tying materials available, you can rest assured that these new pike flies will stand up to rigorous use. We pride ourselves on using the very best materials on the market. These patterns are tied on Tiemco 600SP hooks, a hook that’s very well respected among saltwater and predator enthusiasts.
Paul says, “I am very excited about working along-side such a well-established company as Fulling Mill and am looking forward to passing on my pike fly fishing knowledge. The first pike flies that will be available (above) are my GO-TO patterns that have landed myself and good friends many 20lb+ pike.“
