Did you know that there are over 1,000 dams on Vermont waterways? At least 200 of these are what we consider “deadbeat dams” meaning that they serve no purpose. Many are simply leftover from the industrial era and are crumbling and unsafe. By removing deadbeat dams we are reconnecting rivers for fish, people, and communities. Check out this short video about the removal of Randolph Dam that we accomplished in collaboration with White River Partnership.
