Here at Fulling Mill, all our flies are tried and tested before they hit our shelves. Samples are often sent to designers or used by in house anglers to provide feedback on the tying, how it fishes and more importantly, if it actually works!
Recently we sent a few samples to Duncan Brymer who was heading to Iceland for a weeks Salmon fishing – armed with a selection of prototype Fulling Mill Salmon Flies.
Throughout the week the Fulling Mill samples were very successful indeed, producing a number of good fish including the fresh hen salmon pictured above.
All our fly patterns be it for salmon, trout or saltwater species are tied on reliable hooks and finished to an extremely high standard. Each and every fly is quality controlled at our HQ.
Duncan said, “We had a very successful trip again with good size fish running the rivers this year. I landed some great fish on the FM samples you provided, the tying’s were top class but more importantly the colour combinations were spot on for what we needed. Unfortunately I lost three consecutive fish, one between 25- 30lb which was on for 40 minutes, our guide was more devastated than myself!”
