New Dry Flies
Dry fly fishing is arguably the epitome of fly fishing for trout, and providing quality flies to the evolving needs of dry fly anglers is core to our brand. This year, we welcome flies from New Signature Tyers Josh Jenkins and Andy Spotts, along with several additions from existing Signature Tyers “Cheech” Pierce, Pete Rosenau, Keegan Barrett, Scott “Bubba” Smith, and Jack Arnot. Ask for them at a Fulling Mill dealer near you, or head to our website to view all of our new dry flies for 2026! Read on to check out our top 5 picks and get inspired for the fishing season ahead.
Jenkin’s Safe-House Hopper

When grasshoppers are the meal of choice, you can’t go wrong tying on one of Jenkin’s Safe-House Hoppers. Tied using Fulling Mill Hard Foam Cylinders, Round Rubber legs, a bit of deer hair, and a Hi-Viz Bug Foam for easy tracking of the drift, Jenkin’s Safe Hopper really isn’t safe when wet. Trout, Smallmouth, and any other big bug eater will gladly sip these hoppers off the surface. Available in Tan, Yellow & Olive, tied on the Tactical Big Bug Hook, sizes 4 and 10.
Rosenau’s Rocktober Caddis

With three new colors of Rosenau’s Rocktober Caddis in addition to the existing Orange Roctober Caddis in our catalog, this pattern is fit for your box nearly all season long. This caddis pattern comes to us from Signature Tyer Pete Rosenau of Spawn Fly Fish and effectively imitates the large caddis flies that you might find fish rising to throughout the season. It is undeniably buggy and casts a silhouette on the water that trout find irresistible. If you like to fish dry dropper, the Rocktober caddis supports most nymphs really well, but isn’t so bushy and buoyant that fish feel resistance when taking a dropper nymph subsurface. The Rocktober caddis features a slim, 2mm Bug Foam body, elk hair wing, dry fly saddle, and rubber legs that offer exceptional floatation all session. Give them a try!
Dusty Old Bat Caddis

The DOB Caddis pattern from Cheech is offered in Tan, Olive, and Dark Tan. Sizes 12, 14, and 16 to cover a range of caddis flies you might find on a trout stream. Cheech’s Dusty Old Bat Caddis has accounted for some exceptionally large fish during an evening caddis emergence when skating this through likely spots. Also works well as an “indicator” style dry when fishing a low-riding emerger behind it. The BOB features a thread butt tag and Ultra Dry Dubbing body, deer hair and CDC wing with synthetic support underneath. When picky fish are keyed on caddis, this imitative pattern works extremely well.
Keegan’s Stacked PMD Pink Double D

If you fish out West, you know just how prolific the Pale Morning Dun hatches can be. With that, anglers set out in numbers trying their luck on sipping trout. Trout end up seeing a lot of flies during this hatch window, and well-dialed-in patterns really matter. Keegan Berrett’s Stacked Pink PMD is tied for such occasions. When fish are picky about PMD colors, you’ll want to have a few of these around to solve the puzzle. With a hackle-stacker wing, CDC tail, and a wire-wrapped body made of Tactical Dry Fly Dub, Keegan’s Stacked PMD is a durable pattern that fish have no problem taking down. Available in sizes 14, 16, and 18, so you can fish every stage of the hatch.
Bubba’s Foam Assassin

Offered in Tan & Yellow, Tan & Appricot, and Black & Orange (8,12), this terrestrial is bound to get eaten. Fish it in any stream where trout look to cut banks and thick-cover edges for grasshoppers, beetles, and ants. Plenty Bouyant for picking up fish all session long, thanks to a Bug Foam body, dry fly saddle, treated synthetic wing, and rubber legs. Our new Tactical Big Bug Hook keeps big fish pinned, even in heavy water. You still have to feed the fish and get it in, but Bubba’s Foam Assassin does the rest.
