Having confidence in your leader material is a super important point for serious anglers, especially those who fish competitions… The reality being, it would take something pretty special to make anglers fishing at that level to fully commit to a new leader material, unless they had the utmost confidence in it.
But it looks like market leaders Fulling Mill have introduced a new leader product ‘Masterclass Fluorocarbon‘ capable of satisfying the fishing needs and requirements of all anglers and all angling disciplines.
A beautiful fish from Lough Corrib caught using 4x Masterclass.
Buzzer and dry fly fishing is certainly gaining popularity as the first line of attack for more finicky fish, especially those on pressured still waters and wild lakes. This has created the demand for a fine, but super strong leader material. Having recently field-tested the 3X and 4X strengths on Loughs Corrib and Mask, albeit in pretty wild and windy weather at times, I’d be totally happy to endorse the new Fulling Mill Masterclass Fluorocarbon. A further more relaxing day chasing wild brownies on Lake Vyrnwy only served to make up my mind… I see the 3X and 4X being perfect for the river angler, and also for fishing nymphs, buzzers and dries on lakes and reservoirs. The stronger and slightly stiffer 2X should handle all other requirements a stillwater angler needs…
