How to tie a Snake Fly

Published: 23rd November 2018 | Author: Fulling Mill

Snake flies are probably one of the most used lure patterns on the fly fishing scene at the moment, and we’ve put together this great little video showing you how to tie a snake fly exactly as we do here at Fulling Mill.

Some say we have been labeled as the ‘snake fly generation’ (as described HERE by big fish expert and FM Ambassador, Rob Edmunds) as many Stillwater and Smallwater anglers get the ‘snake bug’ – and for good reason… to put it simply, THEY WORK!

The undulating, super provocative movement of the snake seems totally irresistible to trout, especially fry feeders that are feeding hard on small baitfish.

If you’re not into tying your own snakes flies, don’t fret, we’ve got you covered! Our snake fly range is one of the most comprehensive on the market with some of the best and most effective styles and patterns.
