Top Tip – Try a Tungsten Jig in your Nymphing Set Up
Published: 12th May 2016 | Author: Fulling MillThe ‘Euro’ Jig style of fly has become an incredibly popular pattern, largely due to the way the jig hook rides inverted in the water reducing hooking up on the riverbed. A good tip is to have one of your flies, usually the point fly on your setup heavy enough to be able to touch the bottom and the Jig style nymph is perfect for this. Having your heaviest nymph on the point also makes casting easier and improves contact with the rig as well as presenting your dropper flies to fish at the correct depth.
Some very effective Tungsten Jig patterns to try:
Barbless Duracell Jig
Quill Jig
Barbless Orange Tag
All are tied on Fulling Mills Jig Force Barbless Black Nickel hook. Its unique shape and extra wide bend allows even the smallest beads to easily slide on. These signature hooks are super strong and manufactured to Fulling Mills specifications.
